Ubicom has shipped over 22 million units to OEMs and ODMs around the world for a wide range of products including streaming media devices, home media distribution products, and wireless routers. Ubicom's fourth generation IP7K processor family is the latest in their line of 32-bit processors for high performance embedded applications.

Capabilities

As many markets evolve to require multiple functions concurrently, developers face a greater challenge to focus on core competencies and their value addition while still implementing the other required functionality for a product. Ubicom solutions address the convergence of networking and connectivity, real time functionality and general programmability in a very efficient cost, size and simplicity footprint. The solutions are capable of multimedia functions from audio to images and video; networking through various wired and wireless physical layers; connectivity through various protocol standards like UPnP and DLNA; security in the form of DRM , VPN or authentication for various applications; and other peripheral functions.

Ubicom Solutions

Ubicom's hardware and software innovations enable multimedia and networking products that ensure a high-quality user experience and unprecedented ease of use. The company offers flexible, high-performance embedded solutions through a combination of advanced multi-threaded processors combined with a fully QA'd open software platform built upon Linux. Customers accelerate their time to market with the company's system-level solutions provided with easy-to-use development tools and reference designs.

Looking Ahead

The performance and flexibility enabled by Ubicom's core technologies have applicability in many areas. As many more embedded applications integrate many previously orthogonal functions into products, Ubicom's value in merging varied functions seamlessly at high performance and low cost allows developers the ability to build their own custom SoC using software. Applications such as industrial automation and control, security monitoring and management, point of sale devices, other connected multimedia products are all examples of where the Ubicom platform brings unique value, and the company continues to enter new market segments.
