Ubicom Processors Drive Award-Winning Innovations at CES 2008
Five products named CES Innovation Honorees; CNET and LAPTOP Magazine's Best of CES 2008 awards recognized Logitech and NETGEAR products with Ubicom-based processor technologies
Sunnyvale, Calif. — Jan. 22, 2008 — Ubicom®, Inc., a leading provider of communications processor and software solutions, announced that five products using Ubicom-based processor and software technologies were named as CES Innovations 2008 Awards Honorees. The Logitech® Squeezebox™ Duet network music system won CNET's Best of CES 2008 award for home audio, and the NETGEAR® HD/Gaming 5GHz Wireless-N Networking Kit (WNHDEB111) received LAPTOP Magazine's Best of CES 2008 award for Wi-Fi/home networking device.
The Squeezebox Duet, Squeezebox and Transporter™ network music systems from Logitech take advantage of Ubicom's high-performance multithreaded architecture, DSP instruction set and robust network stack. These devices can play the highest-quality audio, communicate reliably over a Wi-Fi network, and simultaneously drive beautiful displays without missing a beat.
LAPTOP Magazine's Best of CES recognized the NETGEAR HD/Gaming 5GHz Wireless-N Networking Kit (WNHDEB111) which uses Ubicom's StreamEngine® technology. StreamEngine technology identifies and prioritizes delay-sensitive applications over a home network to optimize the viewing experience of media-rich content such as streaming HD video and online gaming. The WNHDEB11 can be used as a standalone bridge or can be added to any existing wireless router for high performance 5GHz Wireless-N access point capability between the home network and consumer media devices.
The flexibility of Ubicom's technology is showcased by the wide variety of products in different categories designated as International CES Innovations 2008 Design & Engineering Awards Honorees:
- Audio Components: Logitech Squeezebox Duet Network Music System
- Digital Imaging: D-Link® DSM-210 Wi-Fi Picture Frame
