Our Bluetooth designs feature Universal Wireless Cooperation™ technology, which goes beyond coexistence to ensure enhanced cooperation between co-located Bluetooth and Wi-Fi radios. With 2-, 3- and 4-wire handshake protocols and an advanced suite of Packet Traffic Arbitration (PTA) algorithms, consisting of channel protection and timesharing mechanisms, and Qualcomm Atheros’ proprietary WLAN/Bluetooth Coexistence Agent™, our Bluetooth solutions offer best-in-class performance while enabling glitch-free WLAN signals.

Flexible Design

Qualcomm Atheros offers a variety of Bluetooth configurations and packaging options to ease the design process. It’s portfolio has evolved as Bluetooth specifications and software has progressed, and now includes products that support Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy, Bluetooth 3.0 High Speed, and Bluetooth 2.1 + Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) standards. All of these solutions feature Qualcomm Atheros’ single-chip Bluetooth architectures with both hosted and un-hosted options and support for UART and USB interfaces.

As a proponent of open software, Qualcomm Atheros provides its own Bluetooth stack for easy portability and also supports standard Bluetooth stacks such as Blue Z on Linux, Chrome OS, and Android OS. All Bluetooth profiles in Blue Z are supported, including headset and hands-free profiles, A2DP, FTP, DUN, OPP, PAN, SPP and PBAP.
